Richard Matarazzo - Director of Technology & Creative Design:

     Richard Matarazzo brings to Strickland Security & Safety Solutions his extensive technical knowledge of alarm device data and video surveilance systems along with his creative graphical, analytical, and project development skills.

     His professional experience includes serving over 7 years as Creative Design Director for an industry leading data management and e-learning software solutions provider, whose world class implementation base for its software includes many of the largest and most prominent retailers and government agencies in the country. As a small startup, Richard was instrumental in developing the company’s first image and his talents as a computer graphics artist quickly took this small company to new heights in a very short time. For over 7 years he successfully integrated his skills while providing graphical support to help lead and develop a staff of programmers, writers, and artists to use his standards in creating industry leading training programs.

     Richard was part of the creative team that won a Telly Award in 2005 for Best Training and Education Program and an eLa (e-Learning Achievement) Award in 2006 for achievements in electronic learning and computer-based education.

     Richard is responsible for designing and creating an interactive children’s safety program “Playing It Safe” which was based on the classroom teachings of the Playing It Safe program created by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island. The Playing It Safe Interactive Training Program is distributed by BBBS of LI, and is used in classrooms and homes around the country.

     Richard’s educational background consists of, two years Traditional Fine Arts training from the Huntington School of Fine Arts, three years at the University of Hartford, where he studied Illustration, Printmaking and Sculpture, and played Div. I lacrosse and Rugby. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Computer Graphics, Motion Graphics and Animation from Long Island University at C.W. Post, where he later returned for his Master of Arts Degree in Interactive Multimedia Art.

     Richard also holds a certification for digital photography from the NY Institute of Photography.

     Richard has used his talents and knowledge to successfully start-up his own computer graphics and web development company, Oblivion Grafx, along with a photo documentation company, Structural Forensics, both located on Long Island, NY.

     When he is not at the computer or working in the field, Richard works as a contract photojournalist and Sports photographer.
